Iris Beckler, will be the Doula on hand at the workshop. After attending her first birth at the age of 19, Iris's passion for supporting pregnant and birthing women was sparked. Thirteen years later she has since had the privilege of witnessing dozens of birth, had two kids of her own, and started a nonprofit called Doulas Supporting Teens that helps pair doulas with pregnant teens in Lane County. She believes that all women deserve to have a supportive environment when giving birth and that through that support a women is able to come into her power as a mother.

Mija Andrade, Director of M.E.C.C.A., is also a mixed media artist and workshop instructor. With the birth of her daughter, over 7 years ago, Mija's creative energies were reawakened. And so, the creative process around pregnancy and birth are near and dear to her heart.
