Get Involved

There are lots of ways to get involved with The Grrrlz Rock Festival. Not only do we ADORE help… we require it. We want it. We CRAVE it… We BEG for it! It takes a lot of people coming together to share their time and talents to pull this thing off. In 2006 Cindy Ingram, founder of Grrrlz Rock, started out all by herself. Now, four years later, the team of volunteers and interns have grown to about 30! We don't want to be greedy... but MORE PLEASE!

Here are a list of ideas for getting plugged into Grrrlz Rock. This is not an exclusive list. It’s a list of ideas to get you thinking. Chances are you have an amazingly weird or unique skill that you could contribute. Contact us and let us know! Really.

• Be a best Guest Blogger- Write anything related to women, the arts and feminism and we’ll post it!
• Contribute to the Opening Reception Art Show- Think vagina!
• Bring a dish to the potluck- Everyone loves food!
• Help us publish a Grrrlz Rock WIKI- it's kinda technical.
• Be a sponsor- It’s too late to get logos on stuff for this year, but how about 2010?
• Donate money to SASS in support of Grrrlz Rock- It’s all about the Benjamin’s, Ladies!
• Bring your band merch, crafts, children’s activity or non-profit information to the potluck event and share- Free tabling space available.
• Volunteer at one of the shows- Be an MC, work the door, be a stage manager, sound assistant… possibilities are endless!
• Take photos and most importantly…. Send them to us so we can post them- It would be cool to have a Grrrlz Rock Flicker page!
• Help us tweet, blast face book, MySpace, YouTube and/or craigslist- Go Viral for the cause!
• Poster distribution- LOTS of posters and flyers that need to be put up around town. Someone’s got to do it!
• Write event previews or reviews- What are your personal thoughts, experiences? We want to know!
• Create a poster/sign about Judy Chicago for the Art show- Think high school poster project
• Translate website content into another language- Why not?
• Be a sign language interpreter at the shows.
• Suggest additional links for our blog roll
• Help us broadcast a live web-cast via each event- Bring your lap top and manage the chat room.
• Write about Grrrlz Rock in your school newspaper/magazine, group newsletter- Be the cool one in the know!
• Tell your friends about Grrrlz Rock.
• Commit to joining a Steering Committee that begins working on Grrrlz Rock 2010 next June or even sooner.
• Tell our sponsors that you appreciate their support of Grrrlz Rock- They need to know that you noticed.
• Help us find new sponsors and volunteers for 2010
• Submit your performance group for inclusion in 2010- e-mail applications accepted after June 2010.
• Help us partner with existing organizations/event that occur during 2010- We can always join forces.
• Help us find donations of food for the potluck- It would be great to have too much food,
  than not enough.
• Run naked through the streets of Eugene screaming “Grrrrlz Rock is coming….
  Grrrrlz Rock is coming!” – Ok. Maybe not that one
